This is a little bit about me:
- I turned 36 (!!!) in June. I am married to a wonderful man (DH), who is a semi-stay-at-home-dad to our 8-year-old daughter (DD).
- Some of the things I enjoy are: reading, writing, journaling, traveling, cross-stitch, eating, sleeping, knitting, RPGs, daydreaming, watching TV, surfing the Internet, reading online journals and blogs, playing Scrabble or Trivial Pursuit, jigsaw puzzles…
- I am a liberal. I am a member of Amnesty International. I could be classified as a tree-hugger, but I dislike the militant animal rights groups. Although I am pro-choice, I could never kill my own child.
- Some of the things I detest are: smoking, drinking, drugging, people who drive drunk, people who think they’re better than everyone else, people who try to convert me, people who don’t listen, people in general, people who WON’T claim responsibility for their own actions, people who abuse dogs or cats or other pets, people who abandon animals, people who treat animals better than people, starving children, abused children, people who kill their children…this list could go on and on and on.
- I hate clowns.
- I grew up on a farm. I live in a small town. I am from Illinois. I love the Midwest. There is a different kind of beauty here.
- I have been to Europe. I have an Australian penpal and someday I hope to visit her. We have met in real life.
- Some people might be surprised to find out that I’m studying Goddess religions.
- The grass is NOT greener on the other side of the fence, no matter how green it seems.
- No matter how bad I think I have it, there’s always someone worse off than me.
- I am a collector/packrat: I have a closet full of international Barbie dolls and another glass case full of Beanie Babies. I don’t collect quite as much stuff as I used to. I’ve learned to get rid of stuff. But, I do still have the collecting bug: my current interests are Fenton art glass and Himstedt dolls.
- My paternal grandmother died of cancer in 1990 and her death deeply affected me.
- I have a saying: “Stupid people shouldn’t breed.”
